B&W Film, Photographs — Jordan on March 23, 2008

Actual new B&W film photography! Here I tried to accomplish two goals at once with this roll — trying out my new (to me) Sigma 18-35 f/3.5-4.5 AF-D zoom lens, and rolling the dice with Fomapan 200 in Pyrocat-MC.

The film-dev pair is a nice combination — a little grainier than expected — but it should probably be rated at EI 80 or even lower for adequate shadow detail. And the lens — a Craigslist special at $30 — is fun, but horribly distorted and blurry at the edges at wide focal lengths. Clearly I need to master the art of shooting with ultra-wides.
