Thank you for this post on burning and dodging. I've learned it in the past, and I'm now trying to re-implement it into my work so that it can be more powerful. It's one of those things where you get lazy until you realize that the extra punch from strategically placed high-lights and low-lights really increase the interest in a piece.

Debra, I think that book is more of a "memoir" than an instruction manual but it should be interesting. I personally found most of my actual PS technique info from websites rather than books.

Though I've shot black and white for some time, I'm still getting to grips with relevant PS techniques, so this post has come at the right time for me. I checked out Eddie Ephraums and found he has another one <a href="http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&location=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.co.uk%2Fexec%2Fobidos%2FASIN%2F1902538285&tag=nothintowrite-21&linkCode=ur2&camp=1634&creative=6738" rel="nofollow">Darkroom To Digital: Photoshop for Black and White Photography</a> which I'm about to order.

Sam -- I took that book out of the library once -- it's good too. If you like it, you'll definitely like the Ephraums book.
