Venice and Rwanda

A second-run movie theater in our neighbourhood.

This was taken on HP5 Plus and developed in Patrick Gainer’s PC-glycol developer. I did some heavy “digital darkroom” here to do the equivalent of a high-contrast split-grade burn on the sign and a light burgundy tone — definitely do-able, but time-consuming, in the conventional darkroom.

Such great texture! — posted by Lara Barrett on April 20, 2005 11:15pm

I like your point of view here. And the powerlines (which normally I find distracting) add a nice sense of perspective. NIce shot. — posted by matt on April 23, 2005 11:22am

I agree with Matt. I like the angle and the strong lines of the power lines — posted by VISUAL FIELD on April 23, 2005 11:08pm
Great looking shot. I thought ‘Hotel Rwanda’ was a great movie. — posted by Matt on April 24, 2005 3:17pm
Another one who agrees with matt about the powerlines. Beside the perspective they are something like a quote of the letter lines at the cinema. Nice tones. — posted by Christian on April 26, 2005 5:17am
