Not much time for photography these days — but yes, I am still alive. Taken on expired Ilford XP2 Super with the Rolleiflex.

All my colour photographs somehow “end up” in B&W — lately in muddy, depressing B&W. This started as a digital colour image (Nikon D70s) and then took on a life (or death) of its own.

Taken on a pleasant morning of photography at gardens behind the Don Valley Brickworks. Original on Fuji Reala, converted to B&W and split-toned. From the Rolleiflex, of course.

“Fine art” photography has taken a back-seat to family photography lately, but I am still alive.

Rolleiflex 3.5E, late-afternoon June light, Kodak Tri-X 400, developed in Rodinal. This combination is too grainy in 35mm for my taste, but it works well in 120.

I actually put together a Top 10 set of my own on Flickr a few months ago, and Mike’s post motivated me to revise it. Should it go here on Photosensitive.ca?

Another image from my productive afternoon of photography at the Mount Pleasant Cemetery.

Fall colours in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Toronto (resting place of many famous Canadians, including several former Prime Ministers).

I took this on a very pleasant Sunday afternoon walk with the family using the Rolleiflex 3.5E on 2007-dated Provia 100F film. The film was obviously stored well — I can see no evidence of fogging or colour shifts.

At the Don Valley Brickworks, a little marshland oasis tucked into the middle of the City of Toronto. I’m not quite sure what to think of this image — part of me is very drawn to it, but part of me finds it very distracting.

Taken with the Rolleiflex on Fuji Acros film, guesstimated exposure, developed in Barry Thornton’s two-bath metol developer.
